Yaffa Painting featured on Fringe Magazine
Thank you to Fringe for featuring my painting Yaffa and sharing its story of hope, unity, and resilience! This piece celebrates the powerful bond between Nawal Arafat and Rachel Hagigi—two justice activists, one Palestinian and one Israeli, showing us that shared humanity can shine through even the deepest divides.
I’m so grateful for the amazing support I continue to receive from my local community. Your encouragement keeps me inspired to create work that challenges divisive narratives, sparks important conversations and brings us closer together.

When people of ethnic backgrounds are asked, “Where are you from?” not only does this question imply a lack of belonging, but it is also laden with assumptions. One of these assumptions is that there is a simple answer to the question, that they are from one specific place or background.
In reality, people’s backgrounds are complex and layered. Within this collection, each portrait offers a nuanced depiction, showcasing individuality while celebrating agency, strength, and beauty.
Immerse yourself in a vibrant and captivating collection of representational portraits featuring individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds in Aotearoa at the Refinery ArtSpace, 114 Hardy Street, Nelson, from Monday, July 15, for a month.

Where Are You From? at Studio One Toi Tū
When people of ethnic backgrounds are asked, “Where are you from?”; not only does this question imply a lack of belonging, but it is also laden with assumptions. One of these assumptions is that there is a simple answer to the question, that they are from one specific place or background.
In reality, people’s backgrounds are complex and layered. Within this collection, each portrait offers a nuanced depiction, showcasing individuality while celebrating agency, strength, and beauty.
Drawing upon my own immigrant experiences to capture the rich cultural diversity of Tāmaki Makaurau’s communities. Through my artwork, I prompt viewers to contemplate the assumptions that often arise when
encountering people from different backgrounds.
Immerse yourself in a vibrant and captivating collection of representational portraits featuring individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, at the newly refurbished Studio One Toi Tū, 1 Ponsonby Road, Auckland, from Thursday, 28 September, for a month.

Feedback /Workshop at Corban Estate Art Centre
A few photos from the recent Intuitive Collage workshop at Corban Estate Arts Centre, where we had such a lovely time working in the spacious, light-filled art room, we collaged for hours while connecting, and letting the creativity flow.
This is Rebecca’s feedback: ” I am happy to tell you that the class was fantastic. However, I would be remiss without telling you that the instructor, Naomi Azoulay, was outstanding. Although she is a trained artist, she displayed a high level of skills in her teaching abilities. She encouraged and stretched the students with praise and was able to convey information in an easy-to-follow and understandable manner. She was fun and inclusive while dealing with the needs of each individual student. Simply put, she led a remarkable class. “
Thank you, Rebecca; it means a lot!

Stickers Alert!!!
Who doesn’t love stickers?
As a child, I was overprotective of my sticker collection and eventually outgrew it.
That’s how I learned not to be stingy and use my stickers as I please. I love covering my record crates with cool stickers!
Recently, I had a blast collaborating with StickerDot to create a custom sticker featuring my art.
I couldn’t resist designing the “Vaffancoolu” collage as it best captured my current mood.
This Bumper Sticker has a PVC Gloss finish.
I got one on the back of my phone, it sure does spark engaging conversations with others :)
To say thank you, I’ll be including a complimentary sticker with the next 100 orders from my online shop!

Intuitive Collage Workshop at Te Uru
We had an amazing day in Te Uru Gallery’s spacious and cosy workshop space, collaging and connecting. Participants came from different creative backgrounds, but all enjoyed the unique experience, letting go of any expectations or plans and following intuition as a guide for the creative process.
One interesting feedback was:
“It’s not as relaxing as promised !” – a great reminder that creative flow is not always easy to tap into and can be challenging at times.
Whichever way it goes, it is always a highly rewarding experience.
